After some unhappy experiences with software from Symantec (the publishers of Norton Antivirus) I vowed never to buy any software from them again. I use AVG Antivirus. It's free for home use and avaiable at www.grisoft.com

I've been very happy with it; Grisoft updates virus definitions much more frequently than Norton.
Usually, free anti-virus sucks.

The makers don't benefit from it.

And, you CAN'T get a free copy of Norton Anti-virus. Symantec doesn't allow it. If you do, thats most likely not legimate/genuine.

Nortons is pure junk, resource hog, and will leave 375 plus fragments glued to your files, folders, registry and system, if you ever decide to remove the program. Nortons is only good at slick marketing skills, and not good with finding a virus or viruses.
