Is it okay to have two antivirus programs installed on my computer?

I currently have Norton Antivirus and AVG Free.

it can cause system instability, making your computer run worse then before.

best to uninstall BOTH of them, and download and install NOD32 as it is a much smaller but more comprehencive program that will server you well.

Also, by installing both programs together, they can disrupt each others ability to work properly... in effect rendering both of them worthless.

Not to mention the huge amount of RAM you are using to run both of them

No it is not good idea to have to, remove one of them. YOu never know when your computer will crash. you will start facing trouble any time soon.
It's not a good idea because they can interfer each other.

I'd drop Norton because it's a huge software that need lots of resources without any significant benefit compared to other.

AVG is a good one, and you can always have a second scan with online scanner like Panda.
no because one is enough
keep any one of your choice, but 2 is not recommendable.

It takes off your CPU memory and process will be slowed down...
