Is internet security same as an antivirus program ?or different?

hi i am having a symantec antivirus installed in my system working properly, does i need to install internet security again? or both the same? explain the differences if both are different? can i get a warning even before i download a file that is infected if i install internet security?

antivirus I think would scan files which have been downloaded

in general internet security is prevention and antivirus is the cure. Having both is usually a good idea.

edit: yahoo has its own virus scanner for attachments which is separate from anything you have on your computer
