Hi, you said there was an antivirus and/or security suite program you recommend to everyone. Please tell me the name of that program, since my NIS is expiring and I, too, have a very slow (new) computer. Thanks.

All anti virus programs or suits have certain pros and cons. Better check out the reviews on the web before deciding on getting a new program that suits your needs. And if your new computer is very slow then you should try using some online scanners to see if your com is down with something nasty as some virus/spy/ad/malware can disable or fool virus scanners. Unless its a low performance PC to begain with, a sudden degradation in performance usually means something is wrong.

Download and then run startup.exe at:

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)

2 - Defrag

3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)

Personelly, I love Avast! Antivirus because it is free and very effectine, with e-mail scanning and bells %26 whistles like a pop-up blocker.
