I currently use Norton and have been using norton for years. Many people will tell you that they are evil or take over your computer, that's not true. I have never been affected by a virus in all the years I've been using Norton, however it has detected and removed several before I could be affected. True, you have to pay for norton but it has good real time protection and good e-mail integration.

The difference is not really big, just dome different features and displays.

As for the best, I used to have McAfee but ir really affected th PC's performance, so I moved to Norton, and even better, Norton System Works. Probably it's best the one that you know how to use best.
norton and mcaffee both slow xp down, take up harddrive space that you could use for other things, dont protect you as well as they claim. avg antivirus has a free personal edition. www.grisoft.com
mcafee isnt prefered nowadays. but bad news for norton users is that, in spite of norton being favourite of many IT recommenders, there are some viruses %26 adwares that dismantle it badly. most software companies %26 websites claim norton as there primary %26 significant antivirus. but believe me, norton is an easy trap 2 many erroneous problems, %26 once a virus gets into the files of n antivirus, then only god can help ur pc.
