I have 2 networked homecomputers, Will firewall and antivirus on router/computer protect both on int

I have a very simple wired network between two desktop computers connected with a hub, using one machine as the main router/computer connected to broadband cable internet access. The main machine connected to the internet has Kaspersky antivirus, firewall, and antispyware. I am not sure if this protects both machines on network, or is it advisable to have separate anti virus, firewall and antispyware on other machine as well? I have Win XP on both.

NO, you have to have separate "protection programs" on each computer

No, always use indervidual checkers.

Good and free is AVG anti virus. www.downloads.com
yes thats possible .check the setting on each comp to see they are set the same as each other .
at the very least you should have anti-virus on both computer an anti-virus program will not protect the others on the network because in doesn't check incoming traffic destined for the other computer so overall an anti-virus on each machine is a must and preferably a firewall too
in short yes no problem
Hi,

Having anti virus on your Main P.C will not protect you, install AVG on both Machines and solve your problems.
