In my opinion the best anti virus software is Avast antrivirus, it is totally free and works great. Also if you are using Internet Explorer you might want to try Firefox. It is much better and safer.
Anti-spyware is a cunning strategy aimed at increasing revenue. You should not need to buy anti-spyware if you have a decent AV. A decent AV will identify malicious code no matter what it's called.
